Adient plc (ADNT) Starts Trading on NYSE after Spinoff from Johnson Controls (JCI)
Johnson Controls International plc (NYSE:JCI) rose nearly three percent higher yesterday, following the news that the company successfully completed the spinoff of its automotive division – Adient plc (NYSE:ADNT).The newly-created company, which is already the largest automotive seat manufacturer globally with 34 percent of the market share, began trading on the New York Stock Exchange today.Adient's share price dropped 47 cents, or 1.02 percent, before the market close.

The distribution of Adient ordinary shares took place at 12:01 a.m.ET on October 31, 2016.Adient issued one ordinary share for every ten Johnson Controls shares held on October 19, 2016, the record date for the distribution.
