- The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council will undergo a complete overhaul after an independent report released Tuesday found a dysfunctional system sitting on almost $4 million that should have been paid out to ripped-off consumers.Already CEO John Bachinski has left, after the council's board decided changes required new leadership and a completely re-writing of the boss' role.In August 2016, following years of concerns about how the organization was being run and rafts of consumer complaints, Service Alberta Minister Stephanie McLean appointed George Cuff to review the council's governance.

- Both divisions of transportation and feeding industries in the Engineering Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) finished the development of the automotive industry strategy meant to bolster Egypt's automotive sector.The strategy has been developed in cooperation with the Egyptian Automobile Manufacturers Association (EAMA) and the Egyptian Auto Feeders Association (EAFA).The proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

- Automotive industry joins forces on access to vehicle data-- last modified 01 December 2016Europe's automobile manufacturers and automotive suppliers have announced that they are joining forces to find a solution for secure and safe access to vehicle data to interested market participants.This announcement was made by the sectors' associations, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) and the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) at ACEA's conference, 'Smart Cars: Driven by Data'.Today's vehicles are increasingly 'connected' in the sense that they can exchange information wirelessly with the vehicle manufacturer, other vehicles and third-party service providers including insurance companies, financial and fleet service providers, users, infrastructure operators and diagnostic solution providers.
